II (Ibero-American) Workshop on Requirements Engineering

The second Ibero-American Workshop on Requirements Engineering will be held in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on September 1999, as part of the 28th JAIIO (Argentine Meeting of Informatics and Operational Research), the international conference of the SADIO (Argentine Society for Informatics and Operational Research). Although this workshop is  part of an effort to consolidate an ibero-american community of researchers on RE, every contribution is welcome. 

The first workshop (WER98) was held in Maringá, Brazil. Researchers from Argentina, Brazil and Spain participated and the presented papers, as well the workshop conclusions, are available on-line on the WER98 webpage.

Topics of interest are (but not limited to): 

  • Social aspects of RE. 
  • Requirements management - evolution, change and traceability. 
  • Models for requirements capture, representation and validation - scenarios, viewpoints, etc. 
  • Formal methods - requirements specification / verification. 
  • WEB - requirements for heterogeneous / distributed developments. 
  • Software processes - requirements allocation, relationship of requirements to other software process components. 
  • Quality - metrics and models for quality evaluation / certification. 


There will be two special tracks on education and industry issues. 

  • Education: basis for transmitting RE knowledge, learning necessities and necessary structure for RE teaching. 
  • Industry: technology transfer, difficulties and opportunities for the taking up of RE methods and techniques by industry. 
There will be a keynote address by Prof. Joseph A. Goguen.
